High-dose edibles change October 5

Beginning October 5, products above 10 mg per serving or 100 mg per package are expected to be limited to registered medical cannabis patients. Adult-use customers should confirm their product eligibility before checkout, while medical patients should make sure their patient status is recognized at the dispensary.

Jackson dispensary follow-up

Herbal Wellness Center in Jackson has reopened after the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control said testing found no contaminants or tampering in the tested products. The specific product lot remains quarantined while the investigation into the reported adverse health events continues. Ohio Cannabis Live will keep separating confirmed facts from speculation.

Pure Ohio recall alert

A separate DCC recall alert involving Pure Ohio concerns a packaging error: product intended for a processor was erroneously packaged for sale to a dispensary. This is distinct from the Jackson investigation. Check your product label, retain your receipt, and follow the DCC or dispensary instructions if a product you purchased is affected.

What may be next for patients

DCC home-delivery rulemaking for medical cannabis is expected to begin this fall. That is not the same as delivery being available today. We will track the public rulemaking process and explain what changes for patients, caregivers, dispensaries, and Ohio communities.
