With just weeks to go, Ohio lawmakers are working behind closed doors to change the cannabis law voters approved through Issue 2. The revised version of Senate Bill 56 is moving quickly, with the Ohio House aiming to pass it before the end of June. Among the biggest concerns? Sharing marijuana could still get you in trouble, depending on where it came from.

Starting June 4, 2025, Ohio dispensaries will follow new daily purchase limits for adult-use cannabis: 2.5 ounces of plant material and up to 15,000mg of total THC per day. Medical marijuana patients remain a priority, with existing 90-day supply rules unchanged.
